Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Vertical CNC Machinist to join our growing manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of hands-on experience operating and setting up Vertical CNC Mills, primarily Haas machines. This position requires a strong understanding of machining principles, blueprint reading, precision measurement, and maintaining tight tolerances while producing high-quality parts in a fast-paced environment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate Vertical CNC Mills, primarily Haas machining centers.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
- Load programs, perform tool offsets, and make minor program edits as needed.
- Select and install tooling, fixtures, and work-holding devices.
- Monitor machine operations and adjust offsets to maintain part quality and tolerances.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, and other inspection equipment.
- Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and recommend process improvements.
- Maintain production schedules while ensuring quality standards are met.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and keep work areas clean and organized.
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
- Ability to stand for extended periods during shifts.
- Frequently lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Haas controls and programming.
- Knowledge of tooling selection and cutting parameters.
- Experience with tight-tolerance machining.
- Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience is a plus.
