Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Mechanic to join our maintenance team. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production equipment, machinery, and facility systems to ensure safe and efficient operations. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, mechanically inclined, and able to work independently while maintaining a strong commitment to workplace safety.
Essential Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on production equipment, machinery, and building systems.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and facility-related issues and determine the appropriate corrective action.
- Read and interpret work orders to identify equipment, diagnose reported issues, and complete repairs efficiently.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions with minimal supervision.
- Maintain a proactive approach by identifying potential equipment or facility problems before they become major issues.
- Complete repairs in a timely manner while minimizing equipment downtime.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records by documenting completed work orders, repairs performed, and parts used.
- Investigate the root cause of equipment failures and recommend or implement corrective actions to prevent future issues.
- Follow all Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and company safety policies.
- Report unsafe conditions, equipment, or work practices to management immediately.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including cleaning work areas after repairs are completed.
- Prioritize work assignments and seek additional tasks when work is completed.
- Assist with general facility maintenance as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous industrial maintenance or maintenance mechanic experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment problems.
- Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, blueprints, diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Understanding of direct-drive, belt-driven, and chain-driven equipment.
- Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS/SDS).
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions while maintaining safety standards.
Preferred Skills
- Experience performing preventative maintenance in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Knowledge of electrical distribution systems.
- Experience with conveyors, motors, pumps, gearboxes, and other industrial equipment.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance requests.
