Staff Accountant in San Antonio, TX 78216

Pay: 

$20.00/hr

Schedule:

Monday - Friday 9:00am -5:00pm

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• A solid understanding of debits and credits, recording financial transactions in general ledgers
• Prepare journal entries
• Post bank transactions, vendor bills and payments made, and customer payments received
• Maintain general journal records, ensuring entries are accurate and up-to-date
• Collaborate with operations to ensure proper accounting for inventory
• Assist with monthly and annual closing processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis
• Work with various accounting software
• Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation and financial data as requested

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

• Experience of 3-5 years in a Staff Accountant role or similar position
• Proficient in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
• A solid understanding of debits and credits for recording financial transactions 
• Familiarity with Bank Reconciliations and Account Reconciliations
• Demonstrated knowledge of General Ledger Maintenance, including a knowledge of debits and credits
• Skilled in making Journal Entries
• Experience in Inventory Accounting/ Inventory Reconciliation preferred
• Proficient in using accounting software such as QuickBooks
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and organization skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Must be detail-oriented and able to multitask
