Job Summary:
The Credit Manager you will be responsible for the credit granting process, making decisions related to creditworthiness, acceptable levels of risk, payment terms, and customer collection and enforcement actions.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assess the financial stability and creditworthiness of potential customers by interpreting commercial/individual credit reports and financial statements.
- Perform periodic credit reviews of existing customers.
- Make credit decisions within assigned authority.
- Interface with sales organization and customer setup team (Sales Rep, Partners, Sales Support) to ensure timely and accurate review of new customer applications and communicate credit decisions.
- Demonstrate thoughtful stewardship of Company’s AR Assets by making sound credit decisions, optimizing cash flow while minimizing bad debt expense.
- Ensure timely collection of receivables and recommend a course of action on accounts considered to be high risk.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, able to diplomatically resolve conflict, and maintain positive customer relationships.
- Demonstrate knowledge of credit and/or collection practices which can include debt repayment, dispute resolution, risk mitigation, etc.
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of financial concepts which includes establishing appropriate bad debt reserves.
- Gather and synthesize information from a variety of sources (i.e. financial statements, reports), make effective credit decisions, and document decisions appropriately.
- Organize workload effectively, proactively work with customers to ensure commitments are met, and raise issues and recommendations to management.
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
- 3-5 years experience
- Business or Accounting Degree preferred
- Experience with credit analysis
- Understand credit/collection laws and best practices
- Attention to detail & accuracy
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel
