Job Description

Bilingual Paralegal in Houston, TX 77081

*Interviews will be conducted via phone/Zoom from our Austin, TX office*

*Candidates must live in the Houston, TX 77081 area or within reasonable commute* 

Pay:

$18/hr

Schedule:

Monday-Friday 7am-5pm

Job Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Assist attorneys in all aspects of case preparation, including research, drafting, and organizing legal documents.
  • Translate legal documents and correspondence between English and [Second Language] accurately and efficiently.
  • Serve as a liaison between attorneys and clients, ensuring clear and professional communication in both languages.
  • Manage and maintain case files, court documents, and filing systems.
  • Conduct legal research and summarize findings.
  • Prepare and file legal forms, pleadings, and other documents with courts and government agencies.
  • Schedule meetings, depositions, and court hearings; maintain attorney calendars.
  • Support client intake and interviews, ensuring all necessary information is obtained and recorded.
  • Track case progress and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with all legal and ethical requirements.

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Paralegal certificate or equivalent education/experience.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
  • 2+ years of experience as a paralegal or legal assistant, preferably in a bilingual role.
  • Strong understanding of legal terminology and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
  • Proficiency with legal software, Microsoft Office Suite, and case management systems.
  • High level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
