Controller in Irving, TX

Salary:

$125-140k

Schedule:

Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

Job Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Supervise all operations of the finance and accounting department in both companies, including decision making. 
  • Oversee the preparation of all financial reports and month-end closing procedures.
  • Perform monthly intercompany reconciliations. 
  • Prepare financial reports in accordance with company requirements, meeting due dates and deadlines. 
  • Compare and analyze monthly operating results against budget. 
  • Design, establish, and maintain an organizational structure to effectively accomplish the department's goals and objectives. 
  • Responsible for daily bank deposits, maintenance of house banks and petty cash funds, verifying postings and night audit reports, credit card transfers, AP, AR, and inventory controls. 
  • Responsible for developing, maintaining, and meeting annual budgets and initiatives. 
  • Supervise financial planning. 
  • Manage the composition of financial outlooks and financial forecasts. 
  • Review and maintain budgeting and forecasting models. 
  • Perform financial analysis for contract negotiations and investment decisions. 
  • Conduct regular financial analysis to provide insights on revenue generation, cost control, and profitability enhancement. 
  • Collaborate with department heads to identify and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality. 
  • Responsible for management and review of general ledger and account reconciliations. 
  • Responsible for all documentation and implementation of all accounting policies, processes, and standard operating procedures. 
  • Lead the accounting team in special projects and provide ad hoc reporting as required. 
  • Review and approve financial transactions and ensure compliance with monthly and fiscal year-end close requirements. 
  • Train and oversee the work of all direct reports and conduct performance evaluations that are timely and constructive. 
  • Identify opportunities to improve systems and processes, working with operations, corporate accounting, and others to consistently improve accuracy and efficiency of processing transactions while improving internal controls. 
  • Direct internal and external audit engagements. 
  • Work with International finance colleagues around the world on a variety of Group level reporting projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field. 
  • CPA, MBA, or other relevant qualification is a plus. 
  • Five or more years of experience in finance and accounting, preferably in the manufacturing or construction industry. 
  • Prior management and supervisory experience (3 or more years) is a plus. 
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws and best practices. 
  • Inventory Management and Cost Accounting experience is a plus. 
  • Strong leadership attributes with the ability to drive performance across a diverse team. 
  • Knowledge of financial and accounting reporting systems. 
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Internal Accounting Controls. 
  • Must be able to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail. 
  • Strong values and a bias for action in decision-making. 
  • Candidate must possess solid decision-analysis skills including cost/benefit analysis. 
  • Must be a strong communicator, comfortable navigating between local US teams and international leadership to align goals and drive efficiency.
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and organize initiatives. 
  • Ability to connect financial data with operational insights.
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Advanced MS Excel skills including VLOOKUP’s and Pivot Tables. 
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
