Pay:

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced CAD Designer/Drafter, where your expertise will play a key role in the design and development of mechanical and electrical systems specifically for manufacturing applications. You'll leverage cutting-edge technology to transform concepts into tangible designs, contributing directly to the efficiency and success of our production processes.

Job Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings for manufacturing components, assemblies, and systems using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
  • Develop and refine mechanical and electrical system designs to meet project specifications and requirements.
  • Work closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and meet quality standards.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to incorporate feedback and ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate and comprehensive design documentation, including technical drawings, specifications, and project files.
  • Ensure all designs comply with industry standards, company guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform design reviews and validation checks to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to design specifications.
  • Apply knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to enhance design precision and clarity.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing teams during the production process, troubleshooting design-related issues and ensuring smooth implementation.
  • Collaborate with the production team to develop fixtures, tooling, and other manufacturing aids.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize design processes, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in CAD technology and manufacturing design practices.

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years in drafting within the manufacturing sector, with a strong portfolio showcasing your expertise in this area.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor is highly desirable, demonstrating your ability to create detailed, accurate models for manufacturing components.
  • Experience with 2D AutoCAD, enabling you to execute precise technical drawings for manufacturing use.
  • Comfortable navigating and utilizing databases, which supports our project management and documentation processes.
  • Solid skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook are essential for effective communication and data analysis.
  • Experience in mechanical and electrical systems design specifically for manufacturing equipment and processes is preferred, illustrating your capability to work on complex manufacturing projects.
  • A good understanding of drafting and CAD standards ensures quality and consistency in our manufacturing design work.
  • Knowledge of GD&T is an added advantage, enhancing the precision and clarity of our manufacturing designs.
